Introduction


The liver is the most vital organ of our body. It is mainly known for the secretion of bile juice. Which is very important for the body along with being considered the storehouse of energy. Thus naturally one has to look closely at disorders of the liver as something that cannot be traded lightly with. The main disorders of the liver are cirrhosis, fatty liver, and hepatitis. These are most commonly found especially in the fatty liver, as a condition which many people face due to the accumulation of unsaturated fat in excessive amounts.


Function and Symptoms  


To start with the liver helps with the metabolism function of different constituents of our food like carbohydrates and proteins. Apart from this, they store vitamins and also help in the purification of the blood. The main symptoms of liver disorders are the discoloration of the skin, dark urine, and stool issues. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The drastic weight difference and abnormal sleep cycle is also a symptom. Hepatitis is the condition of the liver that is further sub-classified into different categories but is mainly caused due to bacterial and viral infections. Prolonging of the same leads to cirrhosis which is most commonly alcoholic in nature or non-alcoholic in a few cases. Cirrhosis is the degeneration of liver cells. Alcohol is the main reason for the same since liver cells need to break down the alcohol that is consumed which is a tough task and in the process hampers the liver. If the consumption is regular then one is at a high risk of damage to the liver.


Ayurvedic Treatment for Liver Disorder


Ayurveda considers the Liver as a warm organ and relates it to the Agni gun. It is responsible for the breakdown and supplying nourishment to all the other senses of the body. Thus consumption of warm nature food is strictly prohibited, and hence the alcohol consumption is also abandoned. With the increase in the doshas of the body, there are high chances of the liver being affected thus the Liver Disorder Treatment prescribed by Ayurveda are to bring about a balance of these doshas. The first step is the utilization of cooling herbs to soothe the liver. Which denotes Agni as mentioned. Thus the treatment includes the use of aloe vera, neem, and kutki along with amla and turmeric through pastes and intake through juices for the well-being of the liver. 




Consumption of apples, beetroots, carrots, and spinach are beneficial in treating liver disorders. Virechana is the most useful ayurvedic treatment used for treating liver problems. Kavanagh, ginger, pippali, the bark of arjuna, bhumi amlabhringraj, and haritaki are some of the herbs and fruits used for their treatment. Eating legumes, having turmeric in your diet, and consuming more water along with daily exercise is highly recommended in the treatment. The things to avoid would be anything heavy that would put additional stress on the liver like dairy products or red meat. Smoking is strictly prohibited as it would not keep the liver light and breezy. Also furthermore one should try to avoid inhaling impure fumes.
